Flinders Indigenous Cricket team

This year NeuRIzer once again sponsored the Flinders Indigenous Cricket team. The team once again attended the highly distinguished tournament State-wide Indigenous Cricket carnival held in Adelaide.

We love supporting this team and giving opportunities for them to develop and improve their cricket skills

“Again, there were 8 teams involved in this year’s carnival from different areas of the state, those teams included Flinders, Koonibba from Ceduna, Adelaide teams Kaurna, Too Strong Warriors, City and Metro United and 2 teams from the Riverland area Gerard and Raukkan (Point McLeay)”

“At this year’s carnival we won 3 from 3 games and are very excited for the future of the Flinders Cricket Team. Our first game we played Adelaide City and won, this gave the young players confidence to excel into out next game against Metro United which turned out to be a real battle with ball and with persistence we got over the line with 2 wickets in hand. Our final game in the minor rounds was against Raukkan and win against this side would secure us a spot in the Division 1 Final. The team played really well and came up with the win to secure a spot in the final against Koonibba from Ceduna unfortunately we came up short in the final but gained a lot of respect from the opposition for our courage and never give in attitude. Hopefully we can be more

prepared to advance and win ourselves a trophy at next year’s carnival. The players gained extra fitness and structure and participation, also improved their confidence and self-esteem”
